A song that is near and dear to my heart called “Dream With Me” was composed by Leonard Bernstein for a 1950 production of the play Peter Pan starring Boris Karloff as Captain Hook. Bernstein was originally commissioned only to write dance and incidental music, but feeling inspired ending up writing some beautiful songs as well. Most of them were cut along including “Dream With Me,” due to the limited vocal range of the actors. The cut songs rediscovered by conductor Alexander Frey over fifty years later.

It’s sung at the end of the play, after Wendy decides to remain in London and Peter goes back to Neverland. Here is Linda Eder:
